The assault by the FDA on your supplements has turned into an all out war.

In a letter from both the FDA and FTC, Dr. Andrew Weil was threatened with criminal prosecution.

I’m not making this stuff up. Look at what the letter actually said:

“If your firm fails to take corrective action immediately, FDA may take enforcement action, such as seizure or injunction for violations of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act without further notice.”

What did Dr. Weil do to risk “possible criminal prosecution for violations of the FFDC Act”?

He made true statements about his immune-boosting formula containing Astragalus.

On his website, he said “During the flu season, I suggest taking a daily antioxidant, multi-vitamin-mineral supplement, as well as astragalus, a well-known immune-boosting herb that can help ward off colds and flu.”

How does something like this happen? How can the FDA interpret this as a violation warranting “criminal prosecution”?

Because the FDA has a strong and direct conflict of interest.

They make money from drug companies.

In 1992, Congress passed the landmark Prescription Drug User Fee Act, effectively putting the FDA on the pharmaceutical industry’s payroll.

To speed up the approval of drugs, the law authorized drug companies to pay user fees to the FDA, making it dependent on the very industry it regulates.

Today, industry-paid FDA employees constitute more than half of the agency’s staff involved in approving drugs.

Since the law was enacted, 13 prescription drugs causing hundreds of deaths have had to be withdrawn from the market.1

This war is nothing more than a censorship racket designed to protect big pharma and big government profits.

You’ve heard dermatologists tell you not to use soap on your face because of its drying properties. But as you may know, another name for surfactants is… SOAP.

What’s in your skin care may surprise you! Because soaps are so effective at removing the protective barrier of the skin, skin care manufacturers like to sneak them in whenever they can. They may disguise them by using the chemical name but all the names will include some form of “Sulphate.” Two of the most commonly used soaps are sodium lauryl sulphate and ammonium lauryl sulphate, found in many detergents and shampoos (including rug shampoo, too!)  However, any ingredient that ends in “sulphate” should raise your suspicions! More ingredients your skin care should never include… Ethanolamines (Monoethanolamine, a.k.a. MEA; Diethanolamine, a.k.a DEA; Triethanolamine, a.k.a. TEA); common pH stabilizers; when exposed to oxygen/air form nitrosoamines, which may be irritating and/or toxic. Mineral oil: petroleum derived hydrocarbons; used as inexpensive base in some products. Blocks pores and interferes with normal skin function. Synthetic colors: these serve no useful purpose, and may be dangerous for long-term use. Usually labeled as FD&C or D&C, followed by a color and a number, e.g. FD&C Red No. 6 or D&C Green No. 6.

I think like a biochemist so let me illustrate my point with a simple biochemistry example. In 1990 there was an announcement made regarding the start of a 15 year international collaboration to map the entire gene population of the human body. When the announcement was made, there was a near unanimous cry from "scholars" everywhere that this was an enormous waste of time and resources as the result would take thousands of years to achieve, if achievable at all. For the most part, the world agreed that while this achievement would mark a pinnacle event in science, the 15 year timeline was a ridiculous fairytale. These conclusions were based on the fact that in 1990, despite years of work and countless hundreds of millions of dollars spent on the gene mapping process, the task was only 1/10,000th complete.

A small group of people, myself included, were excited at the announcement of the Human Genome Project; actually, very excited. Our excitement occurred because understood the simple math behind the Law of Accelerating Returns.

Fast forward a few years. Outside opinion got exceptionally negative half way through the 15 years when reports from the Genome Project surfaced indicating that they had achieved 1% of their goal. What a beating the Project took at that point. But I will never forget, right then, half way through in 1998, on July 17th to be exact, hosting an impromptu corner Irish Bar party celebrating a story in the Journal Science which reported that biologists had sequenced the genome of a tiny nasty bacteria Treponema pallidum. That event was relatively unimportant to most, even in the scientific community. But we understood that this real world, tiny sequencing event represented that the 1% actually meant that genome sequencing was actually coming into the knee of the curve indicated by the Law of Accelerating Returns. Beers for everyone!

But wait, 1% is still only 1% no matter what spin you put on it. Ahh…but here is the beauty. On that date, the future success was assured because actually reaching that point had the future curve indicating a yearly doubling (or slightly better). What happens when you double 1% over 7 years? Why, you get 100%. And sure enough to most everyone’s shock and dismay, in 2003, ahead of schedule, the Human Genome Project was 100% compete.

The incredible alternative set of events that no one paid attention to and that truly fascinated me was the DNA computational sequencing costs of these achievements. In 1990, it cost $10 of computational power to decipher a base pair of genes. That cost dropped by half every year resulting in today’s cost of a tiny fraction of a penny per pair. What cost $1,000,000,000.00 in computational power to achieve a few short years ago would cost less than a 3 day Miami Beach vacation today. And in a few years it will be the cost of a hot dog at the local ball park. One billion dollars of yesterday’s computational time reduced to the cost of a hot dog: the Law of Accelerating Returns.

That is the true power of exponential growth and that is what the Law of Accelerating Returns is all about. Now that you understand the power, you need to know that while I used a scientific example and could site dozens of other technology based examples, the Law of Accelerating Returns is fundamentally an economic principle. And that is what you are most concerned with right now – your own economy.

TamPogo began operations in July of 2009. On that date, using decent math skills and some robust software, I modeled a number of scenarios for the business. They ranged from best case to worst case. The two best case scenarios had TamPogo following the Law of Accelerating Returns and the worst case scenarios had the business languishing into a dark and dreary failure by Fall of 2009. For the best case scenarios I had certain controlling numbers based on the timelines that would indicate when we entered into the "knee" of the curve. The funny thing is that this type of thinking is so against our very human nature, it’s actually funny. No one brings their infant home from the hospital and expects them to sing like Beyonce or run like Michael Johnson before the week is out. But we all expect some big change to deliver us untold riches in a matter of months.

Here is the crux of this communication. The riches are there. The Law of Accelerating Returns DEMANDS a ramp up period. It DEMANDS things to progress from slow to the speed of light. It demands a small return to you from the building matrix as it develops. Those returns are gaining now as we move into the knee and they are going to accelerate at a shocking pace in the future.

Traditionally, network marketers have had poor impulse control. They jump from one business to another at near break neck pace. It’s not always their fault as there are a lot of bad business models out there telling really cool stories. But the fact is that to be successful at anything you need to have enough patience with it for it to pay off.
